Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.
Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
Sitewide issues
All page titles are presented identically across the site meaning page information is not presented in the browser tab. This fails WCAG 2.4.2 Page Titled (A).
Most pages do not contain a heading structure and all pages with the exception of event listings do not contain a H1 which matches the page title. This fails WCAG 1.3.1 Info and Relationships (A).
The website was purchased from a third-party supplier and UoW do not have access to the entire codebase, to remediate all of the issues listed. We have some control over stylistic elements, such as the theme and naming of some controls, links and images.
We will ascertain how much we can remediate internally, with our development team and we will then liaise with the supplier to get their roadmap to fix the issues. We will update this accessibility statement with any progress or commitments by the supplier at least every 3 months, until such a point that all issues have been resolved.
If you find an issue that we have yet to identify, please contact us using one of the routes described in the ‘Reporting accessibility problems with this website’ section of this statement.
Disproportionate burden
At this time, we have made no claims of disproportionate burden.
Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations
3rd party content
Some of our services include third party content which we have no control over such as documents which are sent to us and uploaded as part of [example] service, or comments left on [example] pages by members of the public. The accessibility regulations do not require us to manage these kinds of content, but if you have a problem with any of the content hosted on this website, please contact us using the methods above and we will try to help.
